The name Lazarus is taken from the life of Jesus and the Christian tradition, where Jesus asks those with him to assist him in releasing his friend, whom he raised from the dead, by taking the clothes of death from him. This is an example for The Lazarus Trust, seeking to help others experience life and freedom from the things and issues that bind them.

The Lazarus Trust was founded on and surrounds the pioneering work of Karen Pitt, who is our main psychotherapist and counsellor. We have a number of sessional counsellors, administrative staff and volunteers who assist in the running of the organisation.

The Trust has more then 20 years experience, with opportunities to work in a variety of settings and with different groups of people: from young people & children to adults, individuals and groups, from different life experiences and situations.

Our experience has provided us with the ability to offer support within situations related to diversity and equal opportunities within various areas and problems of “difference”.
